Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Mercer Peakes founded Votaran after realizing how hard it is to stay informed about the people who represent you. The officials whose decisions shape daily life most directly, on city councils, county commissions and school boards, are often the hardest to follow, and local news coverage keeps shrinking. Votaran is Mercer's answer: one place where every resident can find, follow and reach every official who represents them.
Mercer is pursuing a BBA in Finance at the University of Miami Herbert Business School, with minors in Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence. On campus, Mercer serves as a teaching assistant for microeconomics and as a team leader in the Management 100 program.
Before Votaran, Mercer gained experience in private equity with Genesis Park, SCF Partners and GEC, building a foundation in evaluating businesses and what it takes for them to grow.
As CEO, Mercer leads Votaran's product, strategy and partnerships, from the design of the platform to its launch in Miami-Dade County. Mercer's conviction is simple: democracy works better when residents have a direct line to the officials who represent them, and when officials can hear from the people they serve without the noise.
